Prelude

Welcome

Call To Worship

We worship the God who inhabits our world and dwells in us.

We need not look up to find God, we need only to look around.

For we can find God within ourselves, beyond ourselves, and even in the eyes of others.

We need not listen for a distant thunder to find God.

We need only listen to the music of life, the words of children, the questions of the curious, the rhythm of a heartbeat.

We worship the God who is present in every moment, offering us the gift of new life and abiding love.

Come, let us gather our hearts together as one, and welcome God into our world.

Amen.

Prayer of Approach

God of Jacob, who rested his head on a stone pillow and saw visions of your angels, be with us this day. Give us a vision of your presence in the midst of our strife. Give us courage and confidence that you are with us, calling us to be your loving people in the world. For we ask these things in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.

Hymn 395 Come in, come in and sit down

Come in, come in and sit down, you are a part of the family. We are lost and we are found, and we are a part of the family.

You know the reason why you came, yet no reason can explain;

so share in the laughter and cry in the pain, for we are a part of the family.

Refrain

God is with us in this place, like a mother’s warm embrace.

We’re all forgiven by God’s grace, for we are a part of the family.

Refrain

There’s life to be shared in the bread and the wine; we are the branches, Christ is the vine.

This is God’s temple, it’s not yours or mine, but we are a part of the family.

Refrain

There’s rest for the weary and health for us all; there’s a yoke that is easy, and a burden that’s small.

So come in and worship and answer the call, for we are a part of the family.

Pastoral Prayer, Lord’s Prayer

Hymn 497 Nearer my God to thee

1. Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee! E’en though it be a cross That raiseth me.

Still all my song shall be, Nearer, my God, to thee,   Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee!

2. Though like the wanderer, The sun gone down, Darkness be over me, My rest a stone,

Yet in my dreams I’d be Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee!

3. There let the way appear, Steps unto heav’n; All that thou sendest me, In mercy giv’n;

Angels to beckon me, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee!

4. Then with my waking thoughts Bright with thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;

So by my woes to be, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee!

5. Or if, on joyful wing, Cleaving the sky, Sun, moon, and stars forgot, Upward I fly,

Still all my song shall be, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee!

Benediction
