Update on Affirming Process

A few years ago TSA explored the possibility of becoming an Affirming Ministry of the United Church of Canada.ย  imagesThe process led to a decision not to proceed at that time. Through the JNAC process last summer, the congregation discerned that it was time again to explore becoming Affirming. Therefore our church council has established a coordinating team which will meet with all the groups of TSA and provide opportunities for conversation about becoming Affirming. We hope to be ready to vote on becoming Affirming in October 2018. For information about the process and what it means to be Affirming please check:ย  www.affirmunited.ause.ca

First, there should never have been a vote by humans for anyone to be welcome in a church …… House of God on earth. The 33 percent who voted against this may be religious and ignorant but not Christian…. They need to look at life through God’s eyes and not judge through their own. They need our prayers. I recommend the church strategize to move forward to become an affirming church without a vote and have faith that Trinity St. Andrews wil continue to be relevant now and even more so in the future. I am thankful for Susan and Russell’s leadership and God’s support๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ. Sincerely Cora Bennett
