Update on Affirming Process

Throughout the past year TSA has been discerning whether or not to become an affirming congregation. On February 21 we adopted a new Statement of Purpose which is inclusive of the LGBT community. Preparations are now underway to have a vote on whether or not to join Affirm United. This vote will be held in April. All members and adherents will be invited to participate and will receive a ballot either at church or through the mail. This vote will require an 80% acceptance to pass. Keep checking this website for updates.Ā images

First, there should never have been a vote by humans for anyone to be welcome in a church …… House of God on earth. The 33 percent who voted against this may be religious and ignorant but not Christian…. They need to look at life through God’s eyes and not judge through their own. They need our prayers. I recommend the church strategize to move forward to become an affirming church without a vote and have faith that Trinity St. Andrews wil continue to be relevant now and even more so in the future. I am thankful for Susan and Russell’s leadership and God’s supportšŸŒˆšŸŒˆšŸŒˆšŸŒˆ. Sincerely Cora Bennett
